Static Tool Sensing

With its host of unique and innovative features, the 170-7 Series is the clear choice to ensure you get the utmost performance from your power presses.

With clear, simple-to-use touch screens, the unit is very intuitive to use. The modular system can be easily operated and adapted to suit your exact requirements.

The 170-7 series press automation system is designed, developed and manufactured in the UK.

A Part Ejection Sensor:-

A part ejection sensor looks for an object being ejected out of the tooling. A part ejection sensor typically would be a light curtain or an inductive ring sensor, both of which output a “pulse” when an object is passed through them.

Sensor Check Modes
ModeDetailsTypical Application
OFFThe sensor channel is not used.
STATIC
The sensor is expected to remain either on or off while the press is moving. Should the sensor change state, the press will be stopped.Coil End Strip Buckle
PULSEThe sensor is expected to pulse once during a check region. If the sensor does not pulse by the end of the check region the press will be stopped. Also if the initial state of the sensor is incorrect at the start of the check region the press will be stopped.Part Ejection
LATCHThe sensor is expected to turn either from on-off or off-on during the check region. If the sensor does not operate or turn off again the press will be stopped. Also if the initial state of the sensor is incorrect at the start of the check region the press will be stopped.Strip in position Feed check
WINDOW The sensor is expected to remain either on or off during a check region. Should the sensor change state the press will be stopped.Pilot pushback Stripper plate
IRREGULAR The sensor is expected to pulse during the check region, at least once every N strokes of the press. If the sensor does not operate after N strokes have been counted the press will be stopped. This mode is best used for parts that fall from the tooling in an irregular manner.Gravity ejection of parts through bottom tooling
PULSE COUNT The sensor is expected to pulse N times inside the check region. If N pulses are not counted the press will be stopped.Counting pilot holes during feed.
PROFIL MODE The sensor is expected to turn On then Off then On again as the nut is inserted and the following nut is loaded, otherwise a fault will be reported and the press will be stopped.Nut insertion
PERSISTANT MODE The sensor can be any state at the start, during or end of the check period but should not stay off throughout.
Note: ANGLE - TIME to be used. Max value of 20000ms (20 seconds) can be used. Scrap chute build up.
